• Work must be original in concept and execution and completed within the last three years.
• Work painted from reference must be from the artist's own reference.
• Each artist may enter up to two works. One or two may be accepted.
• No diptychs, triptychs, or multi-panel works.
• No reproductions, giclees, painted-over prints, manipulated photographs, or digital work.
• Graphic violence and lewd content are not accepted. Nudes are considered at the gallery's discretion.

Paintings: oil, oil stick, oil pastel, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, casein, egg tempera, pastel, and mixed media on a rigid or stretched support.

Sculpture: bronze, stone, wood, ceramic, and mixed media sculpture. Sculpture is limited to 20 inches in any direction, including the base, and must be stable on a pedestal or shelf without fixing.

Not accepted: photography, digital work, reproductions of any kind, colored pencil, pen and ink, and jewelry.

• Unframed image: no more than 192 square inches, with the longest side no more than 16 inches. Examples: 12 x 16, 12 x 12, 11 x 14, 8 x 16, 6 x 6.
• Unframed image: no less than 35 square inches. Examples: 5 x 7, 6 x 6.
• Framed outside dimensions: no more than 18 x 18 inches.
• Frame width: no more than 3 inches.

Work at 12 x 12 and smaller has sold at twice the rate of larger sizes in past editions. Enter what you have, but know that small sells here.

• Paintings arrive in a gallery-quality wood frame or a floater frame, wired and ready to hang.
• D-rings and wire are required. The gallery uses a rail hanging system. Sawtooth hangers, screw eyes, cleats, and wall buddies are not accepted.
• No metal frames, no plastic frames, no unframed panels, and no bare gallery-wrap canvases.

Work that arrives with damaged or unsuitable framing is set aside until the artist arranges repair or replacement at the artist's cost. If it cannot be resolved by the hang date, the work is not shown.

• All accepted work is for sale. No NFS and no POR.
• Commission: 50 percent to the artist, 50 percent to Cassens Fine Art.
• All sales run through Cassens Fine Art. No outside sales of accepted work before or during the show.
• A work that has been presold must still hang in the show, and the sale runs through the gallery at the standard commission.
• Price the work as you price it everywhere else. Work priced out of line with the artist's market may be declined.
• Title, price, dimensions, and medium cannot change after entry.
• Payments for sales made in December are mailed in the first week of January. Payments for sales made in November are mailed in the first week of December.

Holiday take-home: buyers may take purchased work home at the time of sale. If a work sells during the run, the gallery may hang the artist's second accepted work in its place. Substitutions of unaccepted work are not permitted.

The entry form is the agreement. Completing it means you have read and accepted these terms.

For each work:

• One image of the artwork only. No frame, no mat, no in-progress shots. Crop to the painting edges, right side up, color accurate, at least 2,000 pixels on the long side.
• Title, medium, unframed height and width, framed height and width, price, and year completed.
• For sculpture: height, width, depth including base, and weight.
• Two or three sentences about the work.

Provide once: your name, email, phone, mailing address, website, Instagram handle, and a short artist statement.

Accepted artists receive a delivery packet with the acceptance notice. In summary:

• Ship to Cassens Fine Art, 215 West Main Street, Hamilton, MT 59840, to arrive between November 10 and November 20.
• Use a commercial reusable art box: Masterpak, Airfloat, FedEx Premium Art Box, Uline art box, or equivalent. No wooden crates, packing peanuts, side-load boxes, or improvised cardboard. Boxes that do not meet this standard are refused at the door.
• Include a prepaid FedEx or UPS return label inside the box. Unsold work ships back on that label January 5 to 9. Work that arrives without a label is held until the artist provides one.
• Include a completed IRS Form W-9 inside the box. We need it on file to pay you.
• A $25 uncrating and administration fee applies to any shipped work that arrives without a compliant reusable art box, without a prepaid return label inside, or without a W-9. Cassens Fine Art invoices the artist for the fee. Work that arrives as instructed carries no fee.
• Hand deliveries are accepted at the gallery during open hours, Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., November 10 to 21.

All entries are made at the risk of the entrant. Care is exercised in handling all artwork; Cassens Fine Art is not liable for loss, theft, or damage, including damage in transit. Artists are responsible for insuring their work in transit and while on Cassens Fine Art premises.

Submitted images are assumed to be accurate representations of the work. Work that differs markedly from the submitted image is disqualified on arrival.

The artist retains copyright to all images. By entering, the artist grants Cassens Fine Art permission to use images of the work for exhibition publicity, archival records, and future promotion of the gallery and the Annual Small Works Show.

An artist who withdraws an accepted work before the show closes is not eligible to enter a Cassens Fine Art exhibition for the two following years.
