Michelle Cassens owns and directs Cassens Fine Art, and her focus is serving the Western art community through deep, lasting relationships with the artists she represents and the collectors who acquire their work.
A native Montanan, Michelle grew up riding horses on her family's property, surrounded by the landscapes and heritage of the West. She earned a degree in Business Management from Montana State University and returned to the Bitterroot Valley to take ownership of the gallery in 2019.
Michelle selects every artist herself and represents both emerging and established artists in Western art, both contemporary and traditional. Many are showing in a gallery for the first time, and she takes that trust seriously. She is committed to ethical business practices, honest with artists and welcoming to anyone who walks through the door.
With collectors, Michelle builds relationships that last for years, not for one sale. She takes the time to learn what a collector responds to and where the work will live, then helps them find the right piece without pressure. The relationship continues long after the painting goes home. Many collectors have come back to her over the years for help building their collections and caring for them.
