Cassens Fine Art is thrilled to announce its November exhibition, "A Love Letter to the West,” featuring the works of renowned Montana-based artist, Lois Keister, who channels the spirit of the West through her evocative kiln glass art.

The exhibition will run from November 3rd, 2023, through November 30th, 2023 and an opening reception will be held on November 3rd from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Cassens Fine Art in Hamilton, Montana. The show promises to be an intimate exploration of Keister’s profound connection to and love for the West.

Keister’s pieces are living artifacts, each crafted with labor, time, and patience, embodying the sweat and faith of generations who carved out a life in the rugged landscape many call and called home. She sees kiln glass as a medium that breathes new life into the history of the Big Sky Country, a process not to be rushed but to be savored, just like the stories it aims to tell.

“This show is an unabashed love letter to the West - a way to keep it alive in the eyes and hearts of as many people as possible,” said Keister. “I hope that viewers embark on a journey as they move through the show. I want them to see the images of women with their arms wrapped around each other, donning cowboy hats, and feel a sense of camaraderie. I aim to transport people back to a time when they felt like wide-eyed children, embodying that carefree spirit.”

This collection is a celebration of utilitarian art pieces that are meant to be used and enjoyed. The public is invited to view them at the opening reception on October 6th, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cassens Fine Art, located at 215 West Main St. Hamilton, Montana 59840. This is a unique opportunity to meet Keister, understand her vision, and experience the history and lore of the West through her unique lens.
